Processing Matters

The BioTissue Difference Neox Flo is a regenerative solution backed by 36+ years of understanding Mother Nature’s biological healing process. Neox Flo delivers the innate benefits of amniotic tissue to the wound. During the processing, the tissue is dried in a lyophilizer using a freeze-drying method which is critical to the processing as it removes water by converting ice into vapor without passing through the liquid phase. This process is known as sublimation. Alternative processing methods often use a high heat-drying method to evaporate water.

The sublimation process helps preserve the protein complex in the tissue. Once lyophilized, the dried tissue is micronized into a powder and terminally sterilized. This is a lengthy process which adds to the value of our Flo product as we understand the differences between processing methods with respect to maintaining structural and bio-mechanical properties of the fresh tissue.
